Director

Juan María Mónaco Cagni was born in 1998, under the sign of Scorpio. He lived and grew up in the interior of southeastern Argentina for the first 10 years of his life. Already in his teens, he began exploring the audiovisual world, making films with his friends in his free time. He then moved to Buenos Aires, where he studied Film and also, at the same time, Philosophy and Psychology. In 2020, he premiered his first feature film, 'Ofrenda', at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. That same year, the film won the Abrazo Award for Best Film at the Biarritz Amérique Latine Festival and toured many other festivals and cinematheques, such as Molodist in Kyiv and the Cinémathèque Française in Paris. He is now finishing his second feature film, 'Refugio'. He is a lover of wildlife, camping, contact with the elements, and clear skies. Respectful and curious about all cultures. Aware of the immensity of the world and believing that we all have our treasure to give.
